Acne Does Not Only Effect Teenagers

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

The general belief that acne only affects teenagers is a myth. There is nothing worse than getting ready for a special event or day, and to waking up to find yourself having a bad case of acne on that morning. Thousands of people suffer from acne, regardless of their age and discovering the correct cure isn’t always easy. After a while you can get baffled since there are so many products in the market. Many of these treatments promise to get rid of acne forever but sadly, after spending quite a bit of money on using them, very little improvements can be found. Therefore it is very important to look into the acne treatment you want to follow and it is better to go for one that has a proven track record in curing acne.

Murad acne treatment is such a product. Developed by Dr. Murad, this treatment is designed to combat acne and to also treat the skin gently so as to avoid further damage.  What makes this treatment stand out from the rest is that it doesn’t contain Benzoyl Peroxide, which is found, in other treatments. Benzoyl Peroxide causes more harm to the skin as it is harsh and can cause irritation.

The fact that it aims to heal different types of breakout that occur in a person separates Murad acne treatment from the usual. As opposed to accepted beliefs, when a breakout occurs on your skin it doesn’t always mean its acne. There are numerous skin conditions such as Rosacea, Eczema and Folliculitis which can cause breakouts to occur. Therefore the Murad acne treatment works to combat and soothe all these types of breakouts without using strong chemicals that could potentially harm your skin.

Murad acne treatment contains sulfur, zinc and hydrolyzed oat flour as its main ingredients. These ingredients are mixed to ensure that the breakout is treated and lessened while at the same time soothing the skin and encouraging it to heal while preventing dryness and flaking; the general side effects of acne treatment. Murad acne treatment is not harsh on the skin though it may be harsh on acne. It successfully combats the acne and there is a noticeable difference in about a month.

Murad acne treatment has changed the lives of many people, curing them of acne that other products just couldn’t seem to get rid of.  This is a treatment that not only treats acne but also works on preventing recurrent outbreaks and therefore is surely worth looking into.

Are the lasting effects of acne more than just skin deep?

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Being a teenager can be tough. Sure, adulthood is still far off, but teens have their own fears and worries. Needless to say, the teen years can be some very trying times. The freewheeling attitude of the rebelious youth leads them to start questioning their importance and ultimate role in our society. Most teens end up feeling like their an outcast and that nobody understands them. As if these concerns were’nt already a handful, most teens have other issues which need to be tended to as well– like acne. They are not aware that acne is a problem only temporarily if they use the best acne product. The unwanted (and unsightly) breakout of acne is a problem for many teens and it has effects that go much further than skin deep…

Many teenagers have a hard time displaying confidence, so they usually have a negative self image about themselves. They find themselves to be low on self esteem and the acne or some other type of blemish is usually to blame. The true culprits here are not the skin blemishes– which can be easily treated with the best acne product, but rather the harsh societal rules that can affect a teen’s self image and the pressure to live up to certain standards set by role models. A new acne treatment might be just the solution for their woes. In some rare cases, the teen has such a gloomy outlook of their life that they start hating themselves because they can’t live up to society’s strict expectations.

The limited associations that teens have is part of what affects their self image. They are only exposed to a slim portion of the population that adults are. This leads to them trusting their friends opinions more than their own parents because they know that their parents will say whatever makes them happy. The problem with this is that many teens who listen to their peers are subjected to unkind and downright cruel criticism. This type of treatment can lead a teenager to even further self-depreciation and it can become a downward spiral of negative thoughts and feelings from here.

Due to this type of criticism, teens tend to pay close attention to their personal appearance. They have not yet learned to be comfortable with themselves and be happy. Teens need to learn that the negative comments of others shouldn’t affect them and that only they can truly judge themselves. Acne is a common problem amongst many teens, but with the best acne product, this problem should not persist much longer. The tough part is beating the whole mentality of acne’s dubious rep and rising above it. This will help the teen to have a more positive outlook and that acne can be taken care of with a new acne treatment. The self-hating teenager can become the self-hating adult, if the proper measures are not taken.

The negative effects of being shameful and hating one’s self cannot always be cured with the passage of time. Mostly, the negativity will reapper in the form of another problem for teens. This is one of the detrimental effects of acne. It can hurt a teen in the long run and cripple their sense of self respect and confidence. This is a problem that is easily treatable with a new acne treatment. This negative mindset can interfere with a teen’s proper upbringing and development into adulthood. For teens, it is a good idea to take care of acne issues and face the world without a skin blemish hurting their self image.

Increase In Sebum Production = Acne

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

The skin structures that consist of the hair follicles of the hairs that grow on your face, neck, arms, shoulders, chest and back are known as the pilosebaceous units. When they become inflamed, you get acne. These skin structures and the sebaceous glands that are associated with them work hand in hand to see that you do not love yourself a lot when you suffer the condition – they give you the fluids that get infected and inflamed.

There are a lot of ways by which you can treat acne, but you should never embark on such treatment until you have brought a specialist into the picture. You might not have thought of it much, but your skin type is very different from that of your brother or sister. Using a generic cream might work well for them, but you could react adversely to it. That is why your doctor needs to endorse the medication that you need to take.

Acne never looks good on anyone, especially when there is a lot of it. On some people, it grows only on their faces, but others suffer the hide malady on their necks and shoulders as well. Caused by the inflammation of sebaceous glands just beneath the surface of the skin, you tend to wonder how different humans really are from each other. Also worthy of note is the fact that while some people suffer from it only for a couple of years, others tend to live with it for the greater portion of their lives.

You cannot get acne without an increase in sebum production occurring in the sebaceous glands of your facial skin. Other parts of your body may suffer it too, but it depends on the type of skin that you have. There are too many differences in skin types that you can find in any locality; it becomes difficult to give a blanket statement of treatment for the condition.

Good Hygiene Helps To Control Acne

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

Good hygiene helps to control acne, but it by no means is a solution to the condition. There are a lot of things that could cause an outbreak of the unfriendly spots all over your skin, and the best way to deal with it is to bring in a professional. Dermatologists are all over the neighborhood with advice and tips on how best to deal with the condition.

Antibiotics are a good option for the treatment of severe acne. The drug known as benzoyl peroxide is one very good option that a professional will likely recommend in a hurry. However, you might want to consider any number of vitamin A derivatives. If they don’t seem to be working, then you might want to take a close look at your skin; you may have one of those skin types that don’t treat easily.

Acne Vulgaris is without doubt the most common type of the skin condition that people suffer from, but even in-house, there are differences that offer the spice of variation. Cystic acne on your face is one clear example, while some people get the subsiding tropical acne of their trunk. However, the worst type is the one that grows beyond just your face to become extensive acne on your chest and shoulders. I tell you, this is never a very flattering sight.

Everywhere you turn in the United States today, you are bound to find more than a few people who suffer from acne vulgaris. This is the clinical name of the condition; most folks simply refer to it on the streets as acne, or freckles, or other such terms I’m sure you have heard from time to time. People who suffer the most from acne are little ones who are just coming of mature age, but occasionally it does spread to a few outliers.

Genetic Acne, Means Keeping Clean…..

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

If you haven’t ever had acne, you must have come across a few folks who really suffer from acne. I don’t mean the regular blackhead, or small freckles scattered all over their features; no, I speak of folks who really suffer from it, with acne on their backs, necks, shoulders and even chest. I don’t know how they live with it, but I doubt that I could. All I can say to them is, ‘keep up the good fight.’ It’s possible to deal with acne, if you have access to the right information.

If you have not had your bath in a couple of days, you need not be surprised if you wake up one morning and there are smidgens of acne smattered all across your face. Sure, if the disease is only coming on to you that way, you are not very susceptible. However if you are one of those who suffers from the condition on a genetic level, you might appreciate the true meaning of being careless with your skin.

One form of acne, the type referred to as chloracne, is caused by chlorinated compounds. When you use too many chlorinated products, you leave yourself wide open. However you cannot just cure it by quitting, you are going to have to start taking the right acne medication to speed up the recovery process. And of course, you have to bring your doctor in on it too.

In certain instances, an arbitrary doctor might suggest that if you watched what you ate and drank you might be able to control the rate or extent to which you suffered from acne. Whereas that is true, it is not always so. In the case of an outbreak of the condition all over your face, neck and arms, it cannot be prevented by a controlled diet. As a matter of fact, the best thing you can do for yourself at this time would be to see a genuine professional.

Older Acne

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

It is not common to see acne on the faces and skins of people who are over the age of fifty; in fact it isn’t common to see it on anyone older than thirty-five. Most sufferers endure the condition when they are still young and coming of age. People who suffer it into their middle age years and beyond are outliers; anomalous cases.

Have you ever lived in with a woman suffering from acne? Wait and watch until you see her come out of the bathroom, she would spend perhaps an hour applying makeup before stepping out. This does not count the lotion or whatever that she had on her face when she walked in. that one was applied last night! But do you blame her? She’s trying to solve her acne problem.

There are various forms of acne. Acne vulgaris is one common type, acne conglobata is another, and then there is chloracne. And there are others still, but whichever way you think of them, though, they are all called acne because they form small contusions on the skins of your face, neck, and sometimes chest, back and shoulders.

People have suffered from acne for as far back in history as you don’t want to even think. Rather than feel singled out by the condition for your sins or those of your fathers, you can feel pride at such a kinship with great ancestral figures. This is important because the way you feel about the condition will help in the treatment process. Instead of being depressed about your acne, you should be in the right frame of mind to battle and solve it.

Learning about acne is the solution

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Acne can attack just about anyone, but it has a preference for people who are just turning into the puberty phase of their lives. When it gets to your neck and back, you know you have serious issues to live and deal with. There are ways to cure it – or at least attempt to – but not all of them have been proven to really work. However, knowing what the condition can do to you, you might just want to read up and try them on anyway.

A lot of folks like to think that they are immune to a skin condition like acne, but they couldn’t be more wrong. Acne is no respecter of persons;  if you do not suffer from the condition, it is merely a fluke of selection. Be thankful that you do not suffer from it, and please do not stare when you see someone who does. And if you do suffer from it, all hope is not lost as there are lots of very potent treatments for acne nowadays.

Acne, in the most simple sense of it, is dirt; dirt that accumulates beneath your skin and is unable to get out very easily. Your skin secrets oils and the oils only make matters worse when there is dirt packed underneath the skin. It sticks the particles of dirt together and causes them to grow septic and smell. Voila, – that’s really what acne is about, in simple terms.

Learning all you can about a condition is certainly precursor to solving the problem. Even if it is a problem that does not currently have a globally accepted cure, at least what you learn can lead you on the path to something a lot greater, like finding “your own cure”- something that will work for you. In simple terms, learn what you can about acne, and then face up to it.

Why Do Some People Get Pimples?

Although a lot of research has been done in the field and study of acne over time, the exact reason why some people get pimples and some do not is certainly not yet common knowledge. It is well known that you are more susceptible if a parent or close blood relative has suffered from it before, but that certainly cannot be the only factor. Until the answer does come, you will do well to work closely with someone who knows more, like a dermatologist.

Oil secreted by sebaceous glands percolates through the plugged duct onto the surface of the skin, and sticks to dust and dead cells that should otherwise have been discarded from the body. Add that to sweat and other microbes incident in the same places, and you can understand how it is inevitable that most humans get to suffer from acne at some time in their lives. Only when they grow beyond the age that hormones secrete at will can they truly be free from the condition. And it they never do, they never heal.

Dirt, dust and secretions underneath your skin’s surface allows for the growth of yeast and bacteria. This is not a good thing because, in response to the bacterial and yeast growth, your skin inadvertently gets inflamed. The visible lesion that is produced by this incidence is what you get to call acne. Knowing this will help you avoid getting dust and secretions into your skin. Very difficult, yes, but you can at least avoid them to a certain degree.

Nodules and inflammatory cysts often appear on people’s skins when they are going to be getting severe acne. One of the more severe forms of the condition is known as cystic acne, known to occur specifically when the foregoing happens. Watch out for the cysts and nodules, and the events that bring them about.

Acne is getting out of control

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

A recent study has shown that acne has increased in tenneagers over a span of 20 years. The rise takes into consideration increases in population, and shows that newer generation of teens have more of a chance in developing acne, then teenagers 20 years ago. The gradual rise in demertaolgist visits for acne treatment, have stunned professors as most over the counter medication are more effective, then medication from 20 years ago. A possible answer could be environmentally realted, in which polution could be the reason. However has more and more teens are getting acne at puberty, company’s in the field are making more money, the industry is worth Billions of dollars.
