Increase In Sebum Production = Acne
The skin structures that consist of the hair follicles of the hairs that grow on your face, neck, arms, shoulders, chest and back are known as the pilosebaceous units. When they become inflamed, you get acne. These skin structures and the sebaceous glands that are associated with them work hand in hand to see that you do not love yourself a lot when you suffer the condition – they give you the fluids that get infected and inflamed.
There are a lot of ways by which you can treat acne, but you should never embark on such treatment until you have brought a specialist into the picture. You might not have thought of it much, but your skin type is very different from that of your brother or sister. Using a generic cream might work well for them, but you could react adversely to it. That is why your doctor needs to endorse the medication that you need to take.
Acne never looks good on anyone, especially when there is a lot of it. On some people, it grows only on their faces, but others suffer the hide malady on their necks and shoulders as well. Caused by the inflammation of sebaceous glands just beneath the surface of the skin, you tend to wonder how different humans really are from each other. Also worthy of note is the fact that while some people suffer from it only for a couple of years, others tend to live with it for the greater portion of their lives.
You cannot get acne without an increase in sebum production occurring in the sebaceous glands of your facial skin. Other parts of your body may suffer it too, but it depends on the type of skin that you have. There are too many differences in skin types that you can find in any locality; it becomes difficult to give a blanket statement of treatment for the condition.
